EUPHORIC HERITAGE

Granted by the inspiration of the Spirit, the theme for this new year's message (2023) is Europhic Heritage (Euphoros Heres).

Reference: Zechariah 8:12 New Living Translation (NLT) "For I am planting seeds of peace and prosperity among you. The grapevines will be heavy with fruit. The earth will produce its crops, and the heavens will release the dew. I will cause you to inherit these blessings."

The word, "Euphoric", originates from euphoria, which carries the definition - state of happiness, pleasure, excitement. The actual meaning of "euphoria" was introduced as a medical term used by doctors to recount a feeling of intense happiness and well-being that arises through functioning in a state of good health; that is, to bask in the glory of wellness. Euphoria derives from 2 Greek words, Eu (Ευ – well) & phero (means to bring or to bear). So the feeling that brings you wellness is euphoric in description.

Euphoria could also mean being in a pleasurable situation, having a sense of delightful bliss, and expressing the feeling of being blessed or enchanted (filled with rapture). As a Christian, it can cause you to dance, laugh, and make joyous melodies in your heart. Awesome testimonies and miraculous encounters can incite euphoric feelings because they bring about staggering, breathtaking, and overwhelming sensation.

Zechariah 8:12 (NLT) reads, "For I am planting seeds of peace and prosperity among you. The grapevines will be heavy with fruit. The earth will produce its crops, and the heavens will release the dew. I will cause you to inherit these blessings." In this Scripture, all kinds of beauteous blessing or heritage from the Lord were mentioned, and such are characterized by feeling of excitement and joy.

David described his earthly heritage or lot in life as the best of possessions in a goodly land. This, he said, was "pleasing" or "delightsome" to him and it was beautifully blessed with the presence of God. This is noted in Psalm 16:6 (BST) - "The lines have fallen to me in the best places, yea, I have a most excellent heritage." As God's own people, the Lord has blessed us with all spiritual blessings and inheritance because we are the true children of Abraham. Galatians 3:29 (NLT) says, "And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are His heirs, and God's promise to Abraham belongs to you."

Euphoric heritage is a sorrowless possession or inheritance from the Lord that will usually stir up the very joy that vibrates at the centre of the heart. And it grants lasting peace of mind. Why the term "sorrowless" possession or inheritance? The Bible says, "The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:22 NLT). Therefore, I pray that everyone of us will continually experience all kinds of profits, notable accomplishments, all-round progress, significant surprises, increase and abundance, which come with blissful delight, on a regular basis!
