ESTABLISHED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

Every man or woman on earth desires to be properly established in life but we all need to be enlightened by the Spirit in order to gain the right understanding of getting established in an eternal verity such as righteousness. The default position is that the world is altogether set on wickedness (see 1 John 5:19 KJV). However, by divine enlightenment, it is crucial that a born again Christian is firmly established in righteousness, so they can conduct all their businesses in the light of this truth, and dominate the influence of wickedness in today's world.

Reference: Proverbs 12:3 New International Version (NIV)

"No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted."

Today's Scripture says that wickedness never brings stability, but the righteous have deep roots and therefore cannot be uprooted. The righteous are the godly who walk uprightly. They fear the Lord by heeding the Word and serving Him faithfully, and so they have a strong ground of confidence that conditions them to walk in the boldness of righteousness.

If indeed, no man can be established through wickedness, it means that those who act wickedly and walk contrary to Biblical principles, despise the values of godly living and walk at enmity with the flow of the Kingdom, and they do it at their own peril because their foundations don't stand the test of time. Simply put, no one can truly be established through wickedness because it gets in the way of stability.

On the other hand, the root of the righteous will always remain unmoved because they are so grounded in the favour of God, that come what may, the Lord is committed to preserving their root. Why? They are gracefully rooted in a solid foundation. What is their foundation? There is only one sure foundation and that foundation is Christ. Notably, righteousness bears witness to the universal lordship of Jesus Christ. This is why the righteous cannot be uprooted as long as they are found in Christ. Christ is the foundation that prospers the righteous continually, in the light of truth, and this foundation is the fountain of life.

Wickedness does not give anyone firm permission to abound or exist successfully in the eyes of God. It is a serious venture of displeasure or disapproval in God's presence. In actual fact, wickedness is a spiritual law based on the negative supernatural and it is the underlying principle of evil. When its at work in a human, its target is to establish corrupting and manipulative influences in or through the person such that they habitually scheme evil and promote the awareness of the possibilities that can only lead to negative outcomes or generate multifaceted negative experience in all aspects of life.

Did you know that righteousness is the strongest foundation in heaven? Of course, it is a great deal in heaven. Psalm 89:14 (NIV) confirms that righteousness and justice are the foundation of God's throne. Beloved, God's throne was established in righteousness. It is part of the almighty formula that formed the eternal foundation of the throne room. However, on earth, the excellency of righteousness is the act of obtaining the spiritual knowledge of the Word. Did you get it? Notice that 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV) reads, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." The latter part - training in righteousness, denotes that your spiritual life goes along with the practice of righteousness, such that you're spiritually quickened to live by faith. So the only real evidence of true stability and lasting peace is an establishment based on training in righteousness. The training teaches us to invest our interest in the Word so as function correspondingly and grow our faith heavenward.

Another Scripture, Isaiah 54:14 (ESV) reads, "In righteousness you shall be established..." Significantly, this righteousness is based on the death and resurrection of Christ. So the Scripture is revealing to you that you can only be established in Christ, because His righteousness does not owe to the merit of men, or works done in obedience to the law. It is a righteousness stamped with the great seal of grace in the heavenly realms, to indicate divine approval. And it is put into effect by salvation in Christ Jesus alone. In other words, you can only get in the process of being established in righteousness when you receive Christ as Saviour and Lord. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Proverbs 10:25; Romans 6:13; Proverbs 11:5; Acts 10:34-35; 1 John 2:29; 1 John 3:10.

Exuberant Declaration:

Righteousness is the beauty of my spirit in Christ Jesus. Through the knowledge of Him, I'm continually established in righteousness, thereby having all things that pertain to life and godliness, and living right with the consciousness and meetness of eternal life at work in me. Praise God!
