DELUXE PAVILION - PART 5

FRIDAY 17 NOVEMBER 2023

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most (Hebrews 4:16 NIV). Imagine that the Almighty God Himself has invited you to His palace to get help and hope. This is as a result of what our transforming-focused Christ, the Great High Priest, has accomplished for us on the cross, which reflects in the throne room.

Reference: PSALM 27:4-5 The Message (MSG) "I'm asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with Him in His house my whole life long. I'll contemplate His beauty; I'll study at His feet. That's the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, The perfect getaway, far from the buzz of traffic."

I'm asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with Him in His house my whole life long. I'll contemplate His beauty..." God is seated on the throne, highly exalted, and that's part of Davidic inspired impetration. More so, we have been granted the right to come boldly to the gracious throne, where we can always receive mercy, and find grace to help when we need it most. Why come boldly? God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7 NLT).

In the biblical book of Revelation, John revealed the throne as dwelling place of God's presence, which reads:

"And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled His throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded Him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God. In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal" (Revelation 4:2-6 NLT).

Beloved, by considering the above account of throne description, I can acknowledge that the throne room has deluxe attributes because its treasures and designs are distinct in nature and perfection. For instance, the one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. Gemstones are well known for their unique beauty, colour, patterns and clarity. That's the brilliance we have, sitting on the throne. In addition, the glow of an emerald that circled God's throne like a rainbow, denotes transparency and consistency of intuition, linked to sight and revelation of future events. Emeralds have a vibrant green colour and their gorgeous hue beautifies the throne.

What about the 24 elders? They occupied the twenty-four thrones that surrounded God and they were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. That means, they wore circular ornament, made of gold. In addition, from the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder and in front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal, which also implies bright-coloured landmark of the throne room. In fact, there is no place in the throne room that is cheaply designed.

Beloved, the eclectic and striking blend of luxury, plus magnificent designs expressed in John's revelation of the throne are mind-blowing. His disclosure unlocked complete divine experience indicating that God's throne is like no other, with it's own distinctive, well crafted facilities and colourful arrangements, quite superb, excellent, perfect and graceful. Indeed, it's a great and majestic dwelling place of the Most High.

In conclusion, John's fervent access to the throne room in the Spirit was due to divine access to revelation from Jesus (see Revelation 1:1), and for us, "coming boldly" is a fearless, full-grown attitude that comes with favourable approval with regard to approaching the throne of grace, which is without "too many" rules, and we are confidently assured that we'll obtain mercy and find GRACE to help and enjoy our Christian lives. Stay tuned for part 6. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Daniel 7:9; Isaiah 6:1; Psalm 11:4; 1 King 22:19.

Exuberant Declaration: I am born again, and I have been delivered into a wealthy place, namely Christ. His unfailing love is so precious to me and His pavilion is a strong tower. Hence, I'm bursting with energetic divine ideas and I'm forever grateful that I belong to the family of God, having received abundant and eternal life. Glory to God!
