CONSIDER THE LORD JESUS - PART 4

Updated: Nov 12, 2024

MONDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2024

Having addressed the first interrogatory segment, "What is this heavenly calling?" which is also the certitude of our representation of the Christian verities, I will now shed light on the next segmentary examination which is "Why should we consider the Lord Jesus?" More below!

Reference: Hebrews 3:1 English Standard Version (ESV)

"Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession."

Why should we consider the Lord Jesus?

Firstly, it is supremely important - so we can live after the pattern of Christ, and bear His calling with a sense of attentive awareness, especially in observing doctrinally-equipped expressiveness, sound Biblical teachings, and divinely-animated instructions, which result in a mindful inculcation of the truth. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression reads, "...I implore you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received" (Ephesians 4:1 NIV).

Secondly, we must consider the Lord Jesus by being thankful and grateful that God has made Him known to us, as a mystery hidden from ages and generations, and has shown us the hope and riches of His glory, as an "indwelling Christ" reigning in us. Indeed, to consider the mystery, namely Christ, sufficiently has a mind-boggling effect. Did you know that the book, known as the Bible, is written for our study, learning, and cogitation?

It's a book that empowers us to consider the Lord Jesus and it can teach and equip us with so much comprehension about heavenly realities - by breaking down the illuminative layers and heightened dimensions of Christ. It can also spur or induce sincere learners towards gaining a "high level" grace in learning Christ, and in manifesting the nature of His personality.

Considering Christ is learning about Him in an effectual and thoroughly-based manner, and it is a vast spiritual learning, in view of the truth that He is a divine mystery. To that effect, Colossians 2:2-3 reads, "My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (NIV).

Christ Jesus is a mystery that reveals and conveys the infinite and boundless knowledge, power and wisdom of God. To instantiate this verity, apostle Paul in His epistolary expression, numbered as Ephesians 3:7-11, stated:

"I became a servant and preacher of this gospel by the gift of God's grace as He exercised His amazing power over me. I cannot think of anyone more unworthy to this cause than I, the least of the least of the saints. But here I am, a grace-made man, privileged to be an echo of His voice and a preacher to all the nations of the riches of the Anointed One, riches that no one ever imagined. I am privileged to enlighten all of Adam's descendants to the mystery concealed from previous ages by God, the Creator of all, through Jesus the Anointed. Here's His objective: through the church, He intends now to make known His infinite and boundless wisdom to all rulers and authorities in heavenly realms. This has been His plan from the beginning, one that He has now accomplished through the Anointed One, Jesus our Lord" (VOICE).

No lasting change happens in a man's life without an attitude of "considering and learning Christ." It is also the medium by which the Spirit of God transforms us to become more like Christ, and so, considering the Lord Jesus through the unequivocal assimilation of His knowledge is eminently remarkable and extremely rewarding.

Zero wonder, Philippians 3:8 mentioned the importance of knowing Christ above all things. It reads, "Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ" (NLT). Stay tuned for more on this second interrogatory segment: "Why we should consider the Lord Jesus" Shalom!

Scripture Reading -John 17:3; Ephesians 3:19; Colossians 3:1-2; Romans 11:33.

Exuberant Declaration:

I have the full maintenance of official dignity in considering Christ, under the conscious and observant necessity of demonstrating His nature, character and wisdom in me, through my dealings with all men, and in spreading the sweet-smelling influence of His knowledge in my world. Blessed be God!
