When you come to Christ, weary and burdened, He will give you rest, and so, this primarily implies that your focus will shift from bearing earthly burden to demonstrating divine functionalities, through participatory association with Supreme Deity in Christ, thereby portraying the fabric of concrete good works. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
The invitation clearly stated that you will learn from last Adam, for He is gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls, and this is our main focus in today's article. Psalm 25 which indicates Davidic authorship reflects the truth that the Psalmist understood the crucial importance of learning from the Lord, which inspired him to pray in this manner:
"Show me your ways, Lord,
teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long" (Psalm 25:4-5 NIV).
The first reason last Adam is offering you a journey of rest is that He has the building materials that provide adequate nourishment for your faith walk from a position of divine rest. The second reason is that your focus will be rightly directed to pursue the Kingdom priorities and wear your strong faith, instead of dwelling on earthly concerns which magnify unwanted burdens and wearisome impact. To that effect, Matthew 6:33 reads, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (ESV).
Thirdly, the uniquely determinate features characterizing His divine attributes are to be learnt and practised. Few of the main features are His gentleness and humility. Therefore there must be a dedicated willingness to participate in the functionalities designed to reflect His yoke and also, learn from Him by actual personal relationship with Him.
What to do if you want to learn from last Adam:
1. Listen and pay attention to His voice.
Johannine literature numbered as John 10:27 reads: "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me" (NIV). In addition, another Scripture considered as Pauline epistolary expression rendered the beneficial importance of listening to His voice [auricular perception] in this manner: Romans 10:17 reads, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (NKJV).
2. Act on His voice you listen to, in order to change the way you handle the burdens and issues of life, by approaching things His way.
To that effect, Psalm 119:105 reads, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (NIV). In another versified statement, last Adam said, "Happy rather are those who hear God's word and put it into practice" (Luke 11:28 CEB).
3. Be not conformed to the world but be conformed to the standard of last Adam's words.
Beloved, we learn from the LORD by welcoming the godly culture and tradition embedded in the manifest integrity of God's eternal truth and by embracing His perspective which are in conformity with the Word. Therefore, if you want to be perfected in learning from last Adam, you must recognise the essential need to transform the way you think by dwelling on the Word day and night, and by cogitating on, testing and approving His good, pleasing and perfect will. More so, the most powerful expressions in a man's life are demonstrated by regulating and enforcing one's choices, interests, pronouncements and commitments, in accordance with last Adam's exemplum.
Furthermore, Hebraic awakening inspiration informs us on how best to learn from last Adam, and it reads, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..." (Hebrews 12:2 KJV). HERE is how to look: By focusing on His perfect law, which is the eternal Word. To instantiate this phenomenal verity, the Scripture reads,
"But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it" (James 1:25 NLT).
Learning from last Adam is a process that involves mastering the operative ways of eternal life. So learn from Him mainly by searching the Scriptures, for in it you think and acknowledge that you have and can manifest eternal life. To that effect, Johannine literature numbered as John 5:39 reads, "Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me" (KJV).
