CLAIMING THE DETAILS OF YOUR INHERITANCE - PART 4

MONDAY 05 AUGUST 2024

Beloved, we are fully entitled to claim every blessing God has promised as our inheritance in all the pages of the Scripture, because Christ died to give us such right, and so, He was raised for our justification and righteousness, a heavenly commission He brought to bear on earth to make us the very seed of Abraham in Christ. More below!

Reference: Galatians 3:18 New International Version (NIV)

"For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in His grace gave it to Abraham through a promise."

As long as the earth remains, we are to continue to claim or demand our inheritance because it is our birthright by reason of God's promise to Abraham.

To that effect, John 16:23 (NLT) reads, "At that time you won't need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. You haven't done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy."

Whenever the Lord quickens your mind to grasp the descriptive interpretation of any given promise, and to take possession of an inheritance that is already given in accordance with the promise, there is a sense in which it is necessarily apt to obtain it, and that is, to ask and receive, using the name of Jesus. We take or possess our possession in Jesus' Name. And before we can lay hold of inheritance in the spiritual realm, we must commit ourselves to God and surrender to His will, by direct access through faith.

Why must we do so? He makes everything work out according to His plan! To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression reads, "Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for He chose us in advance, and He makes everything work out according to His plan" (Ephesians 1:11 NLT).

Now what inheritance are you anticipating? Before you ask, make up your mind that it's easy to receive, because God has freely given all of them to us in Christ. Therefore, ask, using the name of Jesus, and you will receive with abundant joy. More so, do not display faithlessness in the attitude of making such request because God does not honour a person that wavers in faith with due answer.

To instantiate this verity, let's assume that you require divine wisdom for any given situation and you want to gain it, first of all, you ought to procure an informative Biblical research concerning such promise. To that effect, I can locate and apply James 1:5-6 to myself which reads, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."

Having located this promise, by faith and without wavering, I will action the description thereof, in order to receive what is promised, which is wisdom. Got it? I can also decide to garner a combination of theoretical ideas or framework - based on Scriptural texts that relate to "wisdom", before actioning their dictates.

In my conclusive remark, I want to point up the assured promise attached to serving God faithfully in every aspect of life on earth, which is stated in Colossians 3:23-24. It literally reads, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving" (NIV).

Doing every good thing you get involved in - with all your heart - shows that you love the Lord, and as for the Lord who looks at the heart, His exceeding "great" reward is designed for such Christians, which is an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for them.

Since we know that our ultimate reward, on account of our cheerful and enthusiastic service to the Lord, is not mainly from earthly things, whatever we do, let us ensure that we continue to work at it with all our hearts, as working for the Lord because we will surely receive eternal inheritance from Him. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 16:6; Romans 8:17; Colossians 1:12; Galatians 3:29.

Guided Prayer:

Gracious Father and Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. For this reason, I acknowledge that the boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places, and surely I have a delightful inheritance. With joyous effects, I receive all my inheritance in Christ because He is alive forevermore. Especially, I thank you Lord for the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
