Reference: Proverbs 23:23 New International Version (NIV)
"Buy the truth and do not sell it—wisdom, instruction and insight as well."
Today's article is focused on the very last versified segment, namely,
"Buy insight"
In the context of this topic, the pursuit of insight involves an underlying access to divinely-based reality conveying a deeper perception of the knowledge of truth beyond its surface level. And in this article, I will articulate the dynamics of the important aspect of accessibility that looks deeper into a purchased truth.
Again, buying an insight has to do with deeper accessibility approach towards spiritual realities. It is more of developing the perception of the practical knowledge or cognizance of eternal truth, by means of discerning and affirming the analyzed value of such truth.
Furthermore, accessibility of insight simply means that a saint is now sufficiently empowered to accurately exert the truth he has bought. So it comes with an ability-based operation meaning that you're cognizantly able to grasp how that very truth is worked out to actualize favourable outcomes, and how to apply the practical strategy that establishes that truth in your real-world situations.
This particular notion is centrally rooted in Solomonic inspired wisdom [Proverbial Edition], numbered as Proverbs 4:7. And it reads,
"The first step to becoming wise is to look for wisdom, so use everything you have to get understanding [Easy-to-Read Version]."
In this very versified statement, we are instinctively informed that there is a great difference between gaining wisdom and getting insight which is an advanced understanding. The latter enhances the clarity of wisdom's applicability or usability by seeing beyond what is obvious or determining the inner nature of the "truth" and its proper perspective.
For instance, apostle Paul said in his epistolary expression that he gained a mystery which is the personification of WISDOM made known to him by revelation, and he had penned it briefly. Then his next statement was:
"In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ" (Ephesians 3:4 NIV).
So what is it about understanding pauline insight here? In a nutshell, insight is a "profoundly intelligent" understanding that renders detailed and conclusive attention to what is going on in the truth that is getting revealed, thereby helping to produce spiritual fecundity when the truth is utilized.
Another phenomenal instantiation is a viable reflection of how an "insight" inspired by God Himself, establishes the truth noted in Psalm 91:16 which reads:
"I will satisfy him with a long life, And show him My salvation" (NASB).
In this versified statement, satisfactory long life is "the truth" which is worked out or actualised by divine insight, written as an independent clause: "And show him my salvation." In other words, there is an insight into Macrobiosis, which is shown or demonstrated by the art of divinely-influenced salvific grace or life-preserving deliverance, leading to an advanced or full old age. Got it!
Furthermore, when apostle Paul was addressing the Philippian church via his epistolary expression, he noted in a verse saying:
"Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12 ESV).
From a general standpoint, to work out one's own salvation here is indicative of gaining an insightful approach into profitting from and accessing the realities of eternal salvation, as in, having a demonstrative "result-oriented" insight into the rewarding benefits. Shalom!
