3 MAIN SOURCES OF REVELATION
Revelation is defined as disclosure of vital information to humans relating to their existence and functions, which can be physical, spiritual or temporal. Humanity function by diverse revelation. No matter the environment, level of success, or dimension of operation, we can't do without revelation.
Reference: Matthew 16:17 New King James Version (NKJV) 'Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven."'
There are certain blessings that your flesh and blood have nothing to do with, except divine revelation. Such kind of blessing has nothing to do with your bank account; It trumps and blocks revelation and reasoning from flesh and blood. Peter did not receive the revelation of Christ and of who God is by flesh and blood. He received it by divine insight. As a solid confirmation, Jesus later mentioned that His church will not be built on the revelation of the flesh and blood but on the revelation from the Father. You are already blessed with spiritual blessings in heavenly realms, but when you have access to the blessings, what will sustain them is the revelation of the Father.
Jesus gave us three sources of revelation: the flesh, the blood and the Father.
Revelation from the flesh: They are the things you know now. People and things around you trained your flesh to know them. For instance, you know that when kids start growing, the are meant to be enrolled at school.
Revelation from the blood: They are information passed on by the reason of DNA. Some families inherited a curse from the past because of the blood received from earthly parents. Such revelations are ordinances programmed in the bloodline and activated as a lifestyle. So everything they experience is a revelation of their father's blood.
Revelation of the Father (God): They are divine realities and in Christ, we have the capacity to gain an accurate and deep understanding of such knowledge by the help of divine or supernatural agency. Such Revelations are prophetic. 2nd Peter 1:21(NIV) tells us that they never had their origin in the human will (flesh and blood), but from God through the agency of the Holy Spirit.
Did you know that your mindset, success, marriage, career or profession are a revelation from any of these three sources? Jesus confirmed that we can function in life based on these three revelations, meaning that our decisions in any area of life are regulated by any of them. On the testimony of Peter, which is a revelation from the Father (God), Jesus built His church and He's still building His church on the strength of the Father's revelation. Jesus also said that the gates of hell cannot prevail against any revelation from our heavenly Father. So it matters the source of revelation.
If you are richly blessed, the source is based on any of these revelation. In fact, every area of your life connects to any of these three sources, and the source we choose in order to establish any result in our lives, is dependent on who we are. So the best question to ask ourselves as Christians is: any pursuit I'm making in life, where did the revelation come from? If your marriage, career, success and achievements are revelations coming from our Heavenly Father, the gates of hell cannot prevail against it, no matter how it comes against it. However, if its the flesh that motivated the pursuit of any endeavour, when the gates of hell comes, they will prevail.
It is the same with your dream and vision. Every dream you are pursuing today, the revelation is sourced from any of these three sources. If a dream is coming from the Father, it makes no difference who is fighting the dream and it doesn't matter the size of the gates of hell that comes against it, the dream will surely come to pass. Remember Joseph's brothers hated him because of his dreams and the gates of hell fought the dream because every man is being fought and opposed according to the size of his dream. Therefore, as a Christian, you must be able to discern or identify the dreams and inspirations that came from the flesh and blood, and keep holding on to the revelation that comes from the Father.
