YOU ARE BLESSED TO BE KIND
MONDAY 02 MAY 2022
A God-shaped life is full of kindness and a kind person is an uncommon figure for blessing. A kind person is always fruitful and flourishing in grace, and he piles up a good reward for themselves by being kind. As long as they love God and do it for His sake wholeheartedly, their kindness can be interpreted as the blessed deeds or good works which are profitable to men, and which they execute without an ulterior motive.

Reference: Proverbs 11:17 New International Version (NIV) "Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves."
When we are kind to others, we are doing it for ourselves but when we're cruel to others, we are hurting ourselves. If you are a true child of God, you are blessed beyond measure. Although there are diverse kinds of blessing, by any of the blessings with which we are blessed, we are expected to be kind to others. For instance, when a good Christian is blessed with material blessings and sustains a prosperous circumstance, they usually have a heart to cater for the needy, especially the poor, because the divine nature of Christ in them does not permit them to comfortably spend their blessing alone. There are also the blessing of wholesome counsel and good advice which we can give to others on emergent situations. They are equally an act of kindness.
The variety of God's blessings in our lives is a proof that requires us to be kind and generous to others. Our kindly acts come as a refreshing dew from the influence of the Holy Spirit in us. No wonder such acts are always precious when its coming from a born again Christian. In fact, an expression of kindness extended to others in need is like a soft rain from heaven, drizzling as very tiny drops and blown through the air to their direction, yet it becomes a heavy drop once it settles in the hands of the needy. That's the way and mindset God wants us to live by. That's exactly His perspective when He called Abraham: "I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others" (Genesis 12:2 NLT). What does this mean? It implies that through His blessing, Abraham would be kind and generous to many, which denotes the blessing of enormous influence.
As for the new creation, apostle Paul addressed us saying, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3 NIV). Considering this verse, we have not only been exalted - in the realm of dignity and power (heavenly realm), we've also been empowered with all kinds of prosperity. Simply put, heavenly realm here signifies our exalted state while "Every" spiritual blessing means "ALL blessing" which covers everything we require in life and this blessing came at a great price - the blood of the Lamb shed on the cross of Calvary. The blessings of salvation is designed for sharing, which is to be understood as the blessings with which we bless others.
Although there are earthly blessings which are temporal and then the blessing of salvation which is spiritual and eternal, God's perfect will is to equip or empower us with all-encompassing blessing that covers every human need, so we can extend it to others by being a blessing to them. A good case in point is the good news about salvation, which is a huge blessing to all mankind. By the blessing of the Gospel of Christ, we can become sincere ministers of the Word by sharing it with others in our world and leading them to Christ. And that's the peak of kindness any Christian can express in their world. Shalom!
