UNPERTURBED IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE

SATURDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2022

We can be relaxed in any given situation when we confidently rest in the Lord and patiently submit to His will. The Bible says, "Meanwhile possess your soul in patience." In other words, stand firm, and you will win life (Luke 21:19 NIV). As a Christian, you must learn to be patient in tribulation as you await God's salvation, because God is always for you, no matter where you find yourself in life. Hence, His timing is worth waiting for because He's never before His time and He's never is too late.

Reference: Psalm 37:7 New International Version (NIV) "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes."

The Good News Translation says, "Be patient and wait for the LORD to act; don't be worried about those who prosper or succeed in their evil plans." This means that as long as you walk with the Lord faithfully, you can enjoy His best, which comes with peace of mind. In Him, you'll always find an uncommon peace which the world cannot give, when you make up your mind to please God all the way..

As a Christian, God can make you comfortable even in some life's most uncomfortable places. He can bring you through situations that you think are unfavourable and yet you will enjoy His peace in such situations. Isaiah 43:2 says, "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you" (NIV). Beloved, when your confidence is placed and rooted in God's Word, even if others are not sure of what their tomorrow holds, you're so certain about it because you're totally dependent on the One who has all your tomorrow already planned and worked out.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) says, "For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." With this in mind, you already know you have a glorious future in Christ Jesus from the beginning. So you must make up your mind to relax and function from a position of rest, knowing that your future isn't in the hands of your boss, your banker, your spouse, or anybody else but in God's hand. Yes, indeed, all your tomorrow is secure in God's hands if you are committed to serving Him faithfully with all your heart.

Another Scripture says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 NIV). Anytime you find yourself in times of adversity, it doesn't mean that God is not with you or leading you anymore. Always trust Him because He is actually working the situation out for your good. Yes, though unseen, He is always there to lead you even in paths you've never been before, turning darkness to light, and making the crooked places straight before you (see Isaiah 42:16 NKJV).

So get to know God more and more by studying and meditating on His Word, because He's all you need to come through in life. He's always there when everybody and everything else has failed. He's always there for you in seemingly dark moments. If you remain steadfast in Him, you'll definitely look back and realise that His grace has had your back, His specific guidance has been your route map for acquiring good success, His everlasting love has provided for you, comforted you, kept you well composed and relaxed in any given situation, as well as brought you through victoriously.

God knows how to take care of His own; this implies that none of your waiting goes unrewarded. Remember, times and seasons change but God doesn't. He's very much the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV). Therefore, be confident in the truth that God will always cause all things to work for your good. Do not discomfort yourselves by complying to what you see in the world around when challenges come your way because a fretful, discontented spirit is susceptible to pressure and open to many wrong suggestions and negativity. But that's not you. You are too blessed and highly favoured to resign yourself to ungodly moves, or to be moved or troubled. So rest in God's grace, be unperturbed and relax in His love, come what may, and you'll always win in life. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 27:14; Hosea 12:6; Lamentations 3:25-26; Isaiah 25:9; Micah 7:7.

Exuberant Declaration: The Spirit of God is fully tabernacled in me; I am His living headquarters. Therefore, I'm relaxed, unperturbed and triumphant in every circumstance. I'm victorious all the way and I can only succeed because victory and success are my birth right in Christ Jesus, irrespective of the trials and crisis of life. Hallelujah!
