TIME REALM

The time realm is not a permanent realm and so it will not last forever. Since its temporary, it has become increasingly clear that we don't have control over the self-regulatory system that governs the seasonal and atmospheric conditions on this planet, except God. A divine order was set up by God Himself from the beginning through His Word and since then, its been constantly working and repeating its cycle through governing laws that are unstoppable.

Reference: Genesis 8:22 New King James Version (NKJV) "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

We can gain a more expansive view of this spiritual reality, by reading the context of the story in Genesis chapter 8. It puts us in a better position to understand that the verse was going on as a thought in God's heart. When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma from the altar Noah built for Him, He began to speak words in His heart and the above utterance is one of them.

Seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease because time realm is in place. Simply put, these activities are the sequence, directive and system connected with the mystery of time while its still in operation and existence. The expression, "While the earth remains" speaks volume about God's plan to terminate it in due time. 2 Peter 3:7 says, "But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly" (ESV).

In the same chapter, Peter revealed in sum that long ago, although all the galaxies and this very planet were brought into existence out of watery chaos by God's Word, the day of the Lord is the day the whole system will be shaken. He reminded us of how God's Word brought the chaos back in a flood that destroyed the world. In a similar sense, the current galaxies and earth are fuel for the final fire that will destroy everything at the very end of time, as He speaks His Word again.

In 2 Peter 3:10, Peter continued to talk about how the time realm would come to an end. He said, "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Then the apostle asked a noteworthy question: Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness? (ESV).

Beloved, many will faint as a result of fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world because the powers of the heavens will be shaken. But if you are a born again Christian, you don't need to be disturbed or scared of the Lord's day when the time comes. This is because you already have eternal hope in Christ Jesus. However, you need to continue to live a life worthy of the salvation you've received, by walking in holiness and exercising godliness, as you anticipate and wait for the coming of the Lord.

To this effect, 1 John 4:17 says, "And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world" (NLT).
