THE WORD PROVES TRUE AND STANDS SURE - PART 2
Having an intimate encounter with God's Word is very important. When you spend quality time reading and meditating on the Scriptures, a supernatural wisdom is imparted into you. You may not see it with your physical eyes but the flow is absorbed by your spirit and retained in your inner man. As you begin to speak forth the Word, it becomes a special prophetic utterance which goes out as Rhema Word to fulfil the desire you have in mind, in line with the logos which is the written Word. Jesus said, "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life" (John 6:63). The same way, a Rhema Word from your lips is filled with Spirit and life.

Reference: Isaiah 40:8 English Standard Version (ESV) "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."
When the Scripture uses "grass and flowers" to symbolize man, and then assures that the word of God stands forever, it is simply an analogy for expressing the truth that you can confidently put all your trust in God's Word, more than you can rely on a mere man, because the Word of God can never fail, but man can disappoint. God's Word stands the test of time and when believed and spoken by faith, it produces the results it is programmed to accomplish, come what may. In another way, God designed His Word never to return void, but to fulfill what is has been sent to do, depending on the speaker. Why the speaker? In Jeremiah 1:12 (ESV), God said to Jeremiah, "You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it." The speaker's role in the performance of the Word is paramount because it matters what we see, behold or visualise when we've spoken the Word by faith.
Now this is God's assurance: Isaiah 55:10-11, "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it." If you are a Christian, you are God's mouthpiece and His audible voice extension on planet earth. When you release God's Word as a Rhema, it becomes a spiritual seed that contains the dictates planted and established in your life or world by faith. Since a Rhema Word is filled with the Spirit, life and power, its fulfilment is guaranteed through the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.
When God gives you a prophetic Word, a word of knowledge, and even a word of wisdom concerning anything pertaining your life, it becomes your Rhema Word that will produce effective results according to the knowledge it conveys. Now, if it has not come to fulfilment or hasn't happened immediately, you must run with it or wage a warfare. In 1st Timothy 1:18-19 (NIV), Paul says, "Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith." Beloved, don't just sit back and keep waiting for the fulfilment. You must rise to the task of fighting the good fight of faith and engaging in effective prayers because indeed, we have an enemy who is committed to preventing God's people from possessing their possessions and experiencing a sure word from God.
This is nothing remarkably short of what Peter said in 2nd Peter 1:19 (ERV), "And we have the word of prophecy made more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts." Yes, don't take it for granted, rather you must deliberately heed it and run with it prayerfully and meditatively to experience it as a reality. Such deliberate response is encouraged because the Bible says, "With respect to the promise of God, Abraham did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform" (Romans 4:20-21 NASB). Therefore be propelled to trust and believe God to infinity and beyond because the Word proves true and stands sure. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Numbers 23:19; Ezekiel 12:28; Isaiah 14:24; John 10:35; Psalm 37:4-5; 2 Peter 1:21.
Exuberant Declaration: The Word of God expresses the absolute proof of divinity and it produces the limitless possibilities embedded in the deity of Christ. Day to day, I pour out from my lips, divinely-inspired utterances in line with the Scriptures, quite rich in revelation and communicated through the influential operation of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Thankfully, the fulfilments of my Rhema Words are manifestly visible in my experiences, with their descriptions and messages lived as my reality in their totality. Blessed be God!
