THE DEPTH OF GOD - PART 1

Spiritual blessing comes to those who seek the revelation of deep truth or God's depth. Ephesians 1:3 (NIV) reads, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." The depth of God's truth are spiritual blessings revealed by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to guide us into all truth (John 16:13).

"However, as it is written: 'What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived' -- the things God has prepared for those who love him-- These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God."

Beloved, no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human mind has conceived - the things God has prepared for those who love Him. Here the Scripture refers to the human senses - the eye, the ear and the ordinary human mind. They can't perceive or conceive the things God has prepared for the new creation who love and serve Him in spirit and in truth. Mark the term: "things God has prepared for those who love Him."

Verse 10- "These are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God." The revelations of spiritual truth are "eternal verities" and the realities of the Kingdom unveiled by the Holy Spirit of God to our spirits. Remember the term: things God has prepared for those who love Him." How does God reveal what He has prepared for those who love Him? By His Spirit.

God has prepared great things for those who love Him. Those things consist of His plan, wisdom, good works, grace and spiritual blessings. The church is continually enriched with all the knowledge, grace and blessings from God - mysterious realities that go deep into the interior of His purposes. They are deep things of God prepared beforehand for the new creation (to walk in them); they are beneficial to us now and also serve eternal purpose. So the revelation of those deep things by the Spirit helps to prepare the saints for Christ's coming as His Bride, to be better and to equip them for His second coming. Now what the Spirit of God does is to continually search out and reveal the details of the mysterious plan and unlimited wisdom. This is why we must make our spirit a worthy antenna for the detection and reception of those deep signals.

How can I position my spirit as a spiritual antenna? Start by valuing the necessity of your daily prayer life, and seeking more knowledge of God's truth as found in His Word. That way, He makes known His mysteries to those who are truly seeking His revealed truth. Another way is to develop our spiritual or supernatural "sound mind." Remember God already told us that human senses: the eye, the ear and the human mind can never grasp or perceive what He has prepared for the saints. The human mind is ordinary. So God gave us a sound mind for this very purpose. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (NKJV).

We know that God is Spirit, so the need of sound mind is very crucial because it conditions our mind to line up with the "mind of Christ", which is the mind of the Spirit. Thus we can grasp or understand those deep things as we receive them in our spirit. As spiritual men, we have the mind of Christ, and one of the reasons God gave us sound mind is so we can decode the deep things of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:15-16). Sound mind reflects God's (spiritual) image. It connects us to the spiritual realm and to God and can retain all of the revealed truth. Stay tuned for part two of this topic. Shalom!
