REFUSE TO BE NEUTRAL IN THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT

WEDNESDAY 06 DECEMBER 2023

Being neutral in relation to the things of the Spirit means - not taking the responsibility of the Kingdom seriously; not being actively involved in making a tremendous impact in the Kingdom we belong to. Its like being lukewarm. And here's what Jesus said about lukewarmness in the book of Revelation (chapter 3:16 NIV), "So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

Reference: Luke 11:23 New Living Translation (NLT) "[Jesus said,] 'Anyone who isn't with me opposes me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me."'

The New International Version puts it clearly in this manner: Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

As a born again Christian, there is no successful way to be neutral about the great commission according to Matthew 28:18-20. That's the reason I'm urging you today to make up your mind about getting fully involved in accomplishing His purpose on earth. You can't be comfortable with ignoring the great commission, or lose interest or enthusiasm in changing lives with the transforming message of the glorious gospel by taking it lightly.

You must understand that the great commission is the Master's spiritual instruction. And when you truly acknowledge that Master Jesus is not another good religious leader but the King of kings, the Lord of lords and most importantly, the creator of heaven and earth, you'll wake up from such spiritual slumber or torpor. Beloved, its either we're ardently involved in carrying out His heartbeat by partnering with Him, or we're opposing Him. Simply put, neutrality is a sign of clear opposition. In addition, not showing interest in things that matter to God is also an opposition.

It's time to make a firm decision and stand by it! Become fully persuaded about getting involved with the things of God. Someone might say, "I've been believing God for something very important to me but He hasn't done it. So I'm not resolute about the good works of the Kingdom until He answers me." Beloved, you need to understand that everything you have been praying about and believing God for, is already done. The challenge is knowing what to do, by the help of Spirit, to see those manifestations. One of them is trusting God without murmuring, thereby standing firm on His Word until it comes to pass. But the main point is seeking first His Kingdom.

Matthew 6:33 (NLT) reads, "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." The answer you're looking for is embedded in seeking first to participate in His Kingdom purposes here on earth, and getting involved actively. That's the action that will easily manifest what you're expecting from the Lord. And it is very important to be highly developed in faith, because strong faith is instrumental in positioning us to be effective in Kingdom good works, as well as receiving from God.

Today and always, get involved in the spread and accomplishment of God's kingdom; function with a sense of personal conformity to His standard of righteousness. Don't be too anxious of your needs; be Kingdom conscious. Let your principal heart desire always display how to promote the kingdom of God in your world as you bring your will into subjection to the will of God, so that the His Kingdom will continually function through you. Then go the extra mile and tell others about what Jesus did for them on the cross in order to bring them to the obedience of Christ and the will of God.

Your thoughtfulness in relation to winning souls for Jesus is the best cure for worldly concerns and needs. Why? As your mind is programmed to advance the works of the Kingdom, every other thing you need in this life shall be easily added to your life without difficulties. Yes, the Gentiles seek after all worldly things first, but as a born again Christian, you must have an absolute understanding of the timeless knowledge that your heavenly Father has already provided for all your needs, as you keep participating in His Kingdom advancement. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 27:4; Proverbs 8:17; Matthew 5:16; Romans 1:16; Philippians 1:27.

Guided Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the privilege of knowing you and being a part of your Kingdom. By the ability of your Spirit, I lead a manner of life worthy of the gospel of Christ. As a result, the good news is central to all I say and do and I make myself available daily to actively share my faith with others and see more souls come to the knowledge of Christ in my world, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
