OUR DAILY WALK WITH GOD
Our relationship with God matters a lot. This is because, when we walk with God, our will is going to align with His will. Walking with God is not just spending time in the prayer closet, it's our Christian lifestyle, which can only be expressed in Christ. Our daily walk with God helps us to grow spiritually, as we choose to glorify Him in every way.
Reference: Genesis 3:8 New International Version (NIV) 'Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.'
So many parents who have kids often witness the joy and excitement their children show once they walk into the house. Most times, if you have to leave the house for work, business, or anything else, they watch at the window to wave goodbye till you're out of sight. When you return, the house echoes with their huge delight to usher dad or mum back home.
This was exactly so with God and His first human creatures, Adam and Eve. The daily interaction between God and man was so intimate and natural that it was possible for God to walk about in the garden as man enjoyed His company. Adam and Eve enjoyed God visiting the garden, heard from Him directly, and walked with Him. But one day, sin changed all that.
Before their fall, there was a deep spiritual harmony between them and their Maker. The relationship remained intimate until Adam and Eve chose to give room to the serpent to twist and question God's Words and in the process, they fell for the serpent's deceit.
When they listened to the serpent - the devil, doubt came into their minds and they disobeyed God, thereby separating themselves from His glory. As a result, they could no longer enjoy the company and intimacy they had with God. And out of fear and guilt, they hid from Him, knowing they had done wrong.
Today, the golden news is: through the coming of Jesus, His obedience and sacrifice on the cross, man's penalty for disobedience was cancelled (see Romans 5:19 NIV), and His relationship with God was restored back (see Romans 8:15-17). After Christ's ascension, we see God coming to walk alongside us again, in the person of the precious Holy Spirit. He is our everlasting counsellor because He's with us now and forever. John 14:16-17 (ESV) says, 'And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever- the Spirit of Truth.' Now we have our heavenly fellowship restored anew and completely.
Are you still hiding from God in some way as He calls out to you today? Are you still living without Christ and wallowing in sin and guilt, after all the price Jesus came to pay for your sake? It's no longer worth it. The relationship has been restored. Therefore kindly make a firm decision to believe in Jesus, accept Him and declare His Lordship over your life, so you can enjoy the delight of a restored relationship with God by His Spirit!

Guided prayer: Almighty God, forgive me for questioning your love for me. Today, I believe with all my heart that Jesus is your beloved Son. He died for me and you raised Him from the dead on the third day. I believe He's risen and He's forever alive. I accept Him into my heart and I declare His Lordship over my life from this day forward. I'm now a new creation and I have eternal life: my present-moment reality! Thank you Father for saving me today in Jesus' Name, Amen.
