Today we are going to find out how the children of Israel secured their freedom; how it happened; how they secured it; and how it applies to us who are now in Christ Jesus!

In today's article, we shall discover how Moses and Aaron went boldly to confront Pharaoh. For four hundred and thirty years the children of Israel suffered as slaves in Egypt, under the rulership of Pharaoh. After those years of slavery, God remembered them, and He anointed a man to go and deliver them.

Reference: Exodus 7:10-12 English Standard Version (ESV) 'So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh summoned the wise men and the sorcerers, and they, the magicians of Egypt, also did the same by their secret arts. For each man cast down his staff, and they became serpents. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.'

When God gets ready to deliver you He will raise a deliverer. The presence of a prophet in your life is a sign that God has remembered you. It is our time to testify because God remembered mankind and sent His Son as the solution to every human need in life. Thus the presence of Jesus in your life is the greatest sign of victory ever and you should celebrate this truth every day.

God anointed Moses to go and confront the very powers that had kept the people of God captive. Commissioned by God, Moses went to Egypt to inform Pharaoh to let His people go. When Moses and Aaron confronted Pharaoh, Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent. When Pharaoh saw this he ordered his own magicians to do the same. Now Pharaoh was wearing a crown with a cobra's head on it. That was because all the evil powers of the land of Egypt were functioning by the spirit of cobra.

Pharaoh's magicians threw their rods down and they also turned into snakes. But to their surprises, the snake formed from the rod of Aaron swallowed all the snakes from the rods of the magicians (see Exodus 7: 9-12). God defeated Pharaoh in his own game; He destroyed the very source of all their powers at that point. And that was exactly when Moses, the servant of God overcame witchcraft in Egypt through the might of God.

Here's significance of this great defeat: When Aaron's staff swallowed up the staffs of the magicians of Egypt, it meant the spiritual programming for the Egyptians to be swallowed up in the red sea. So the red sea victory took place in the spirit realm first, by the staffs' contest. Though Pharaoh become very stubborn after that (Exodus 7:13), it was only a matter of time for the victory to show up in the natural realm. Hebrews 29:11(NIV) reads, 'By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.' They were swallowed up by the red sea, just as their staffs were swallowed up in the very beginning.

Beloved God has given you the power and the anointing to destroy all the works of the enemy in your world. But you have to do that spiritually first before it manifests in the physical. The Word of God gives us guarantee of safety and victory when it comes to all the attacks of the enemy but first you must know how to use it for your victory. The Bible says, 'you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free' (Romans 8:32 KJV). If you have revelation of the victory and power God has given you in any area of life, you will exercise absolute victory over every power of wickedness against your life in the spirit realm and by the Spirit.

The knowledge and the application of the right truth is what triggers your liberty in the supernatural. And we know that the spiritual realm controls the physical realm. The same way the red sea victory was decided from the onset by Moses in Pharaoh's domain, is exactly the same way our victory in Christ was decided and established for us at the cross of Calvary over 2000 years ago by Jesus in Satan's domain. Colossians 2:15 (NIV) reads, 'And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.' Imagine that! You are not looking for victory; you already have the victory in Christ. All you need is to demonstrate your faith in the finished work of Christ, anytime the devil shows up, and then exercise your victory in Christ, to establish the results.

Jesus said, 'Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you' (Luke 10:19 KJV). To trample on the works of the enemy, you must first act spiritually. It doesn't mean you should deliberately trample on live snakes and scorpions when you see them; they are terms for spiritual emphasis. The battles or challenges of life is rather handled spiritually. Yes, you have to do something about it in prayer; put on the whole armour of God, stand on the finished work of Christ and resist the devil, until you establish your desired victory. It will surely manifest in the natural realm; its only a matter of time.
