MOUNTAIN OF HIGH PLACES
TUESDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2021
Did you know that in Christ, we are positioned on the mountain of high places? Functioning from this mountain is symbolic of our spiritual connection with the Lord which sparks our inspiration like no other. Being positioned on top of the mountain makes us view life from God's perspective and keeps us inspired and motivated to fulfil His command and accomplish whatever He has placed in our hearts as His beloved children.
Reference: Isaiah 52:7 Amplified Bible (AMP) 'How beautiful and delightful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace, Who brings good news of good [things], Who announces salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"'
Today I want us to focus on the construction, "How beautiful and delightful on the mountains". Top of mountains often indicate spiritual or mental "rising" or height, which is far above worldly perspectives and desires. Spiritually, mountains represent a state of being fully aware and conscious of what God has called us to do. It is a place of understanding our calling as Christians as well as spiritual awakening. It is the point of contact between heavenly realities and our earthly empowerment. For instance, when Moses visited mount Sinai and encountered God there on top of it, his shining face was as a result of the glory of the light of God upon His countenance. Today, this glory is displayed in the face of Christ and its light shines in our hearts (2 Corinthians 4:6 NLT) also because of our position - we are seated together with Him in high places.
The Scripture, Isaiah 52:7 says, "How beautiful and delightful on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace, Who brings good news of good [things], Who announces salvation..." This is talking about ardent soul winners. Their feet are positioned on the mountains, which means that soul winners functions from higher perspective because they understand the heart of our heavenly Father. Being able to understand God's heartbeat about saving the lost means that we function from a loftier point of view. Nahum 1:15 (NIV) noted, "Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace!" As soul winners or good news bearers, this is where we are positioned - on the mountain top.
Habakkuk 3:19 says, "Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights" (NIV). Beloved, in Christ Jesus, you function from the heights, which means that you are stationed on the mountain of high places spiritually. This denotes a position of dominion, which is superior to the devil and his cohorts. The expression equally signifies our vantage point mindset and our permanent position of victory. Its not a position for the ordinary mind or carnally minded and the conversation in such realm or height is spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:13ESV). It's a place of dignity that God has assigned to us as our office or base of operation. Simply put, as God's own people and soul winners, we function from the mountain top.
Romans 10:15 reads, 'And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"'(NIV). This refers to the feet of soul winners. Who are Soul winners? They are class of sacred and precious beings, set apart for God unto good works and sent to accomplish His eternal purpose for mankind. They run with the great commission (Matthew 28:19-20), which has been crafted to fit into their daily lives. Proverbs 11:30 calls soul winners, the wise ones. As the wise ones, they radiate like the brightness of the heavens, and by leading many to righteousness, they will continually shine like the stars forever (see Daniel 12:3 NLT).
Isaiah 40:9 (MSG) says, 'Climb a high mountain, Zion. You're the preacher of good news. Raise your voice. Make it good and loud, Jerusalem. You're the preacher of good news. Speak loud and clear. Don't be timid! Tell the cities of Judah, "Look! Your God!"' In other words, take your position as a soul winner and preacher of the good news - on the mountain top! Refuse to function from a lesser standpoint or platform. From on top of the high mountain, we can lift up our voice of strength to proclaim the good news of the glorious gospel and reach out to as many people as possible - with the boldness of the Spirit. Beloved, mountain top position profoundly demonstrates the power of awe that opens our eyes to higher perspectives in the Lord. Shalom!
