JESUS: THE ETERNAL SON OF GOD - PART 2
WEDNESDAY 26 JANUARY 2022
Jesus is the only true and eternal God revealed in the written Word. As we engage in studying and meditating on the Scriptures, it greatly grows and encourages our confidence in God and His ordinances, helping us to increase in His knowledge, quickening us to desire more of becoming like Christ and energizing us to be strengthened with the power of the Spirit in our inner being.

Reference: John 20:30-31 New International Version (NIV) "Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."
The above verses are focused on what is written. We believe in Christ based on His knowledge written in the Word. This is an assurance that the Scripture is nothing less than revealed truth pointing to Christ, according to John 5:38-40 (KJV): "And ye have not His word abiding in you: for whom He hath sent, Him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." In other words, there is an uncommon thought it conveys about eternal life and therefore we must search and be more receptive to it, in order to continually engage the flow.
The Scriptures are all about Christ, the eternal Son of God, because they bear witness about Him. You can connect to Him through His Word. People don't just believe in whom they have never seen or met physically, but there is something extraordinary about the Scriptures - they are God's breathe. In other words, they are not original ideas or opinions from human authors but from God Himself. Under the influence of the Spirit, it quickens and inspires men to believe in Christ as though the aroma of God's breathe is activated while studying the Scriptures with a sound mind and receptive spirit. And as being explanative of the Word of God, the Spirit grants us inner enlightenment and understanding about the spiritual realities the Scriptures communicate.
Beloved the beauty of the Scriptures is that it is written for our benefits. The Bible says, "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope" (Romans 15:4 NIV). Glorious things are written in the Scriptures and they communicate strength, endurance and encouragement. For the one about to give up, the Scripture teaches endurance. For the one who is growing weak, it emboldens with unusual strength. For the one getting discouraged, it provides with living hope.
Oh! how the Word fortifies us against all troubles and brightens us with joy in the midst of trials. Even in apparently conflicting and challenging situations, the Word always empowers us with rapidly-flowing endurance to win and prevail. This implies that as we believe in the written Word and put it to work, it grants us the advantage in any given situation, calms us amid all chaos and also sobers, steadies and stabilizes us in all circumstances, because we truly experience the Spirit of God working in our lives through it!
Most importantly, the written Word reveals the good news of the glorious gospel to the world at large. As Christ's ambassadors on earth, it empowers us with the revelation of the good news of salvation about Jesus Christ, and through our proclamations, we spread it around the world for the salvation of souls that will inherit eternal life, which is in the name of Jesus. No wonder apostle Paul wrote, "For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes - the Jew first and also the Gentile" (Romans 1:16 NLT). Shalom!

Exuberant Declaration: I have Jesus Christ, the Son of the living and eternal God resident in me. I daily enjoy the blessedness of His presence in my life through the very privilege of the Gospel revealed in the Scriptures. The best and amazing blessings in Christ and the varieties of His goodness are continually revealed and fulfilled in my life as I meditate on the Scriptures. Thus His glory, wisdom and knowledge are increasingly multiplied and displayed through me as I soar on the wings of the Holy Spirit. Glory to God!
