IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON
SUNDAY 25 FEBRUARY 2024
Your faithfulness and stability in the things of the Spirit is subject to test. This can happen in any season. All seasons are not the same, and everything happens according to set time and purpose. However, to succeed and make consistent progress in your walk with God, you must train your spirit to ascend to the level of faith where you become immovable and unwavering in sharing the truth of God's Word, irrespective of any season you find ourselves in.

"preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching."
Pauline epistolary expression in our referenced Scripture is worthy of high regard because the Word of God is for all times. It must continue to be preached and spread to all and sundry in accordance with the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV). To that effect, Paul urged God's true servant, Timothy, to be persistent, tenacious, and earnest in carrying on with the Master's work. This means, in spite of times of bind and plight, keep it steady. In face of the adversity, negativity and opposition, thrive in the Lord and persevere with sharing the gospel.
Consistency and perseverance are the watchword for producing high quality results in any area of life. That's how we stay grounded and rooted in the system of actualizing any lasting increase and in the development our spiritual growth. Understand this: God always makes sufficient grace available for any season you are in. That means, Paul acknowledged that there are seasonal graces, and so, he gave Timothy the charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction. To be prepared in season and out of season, in another way, suggests: being very enthusiastic or passionate, and readily available with confident conviction.
There is an unending fullness of grace and untold blessings treasured up in Christ. So the grace for yesterday's exploit is going to be entirely different from the grace for today's; this is why you must be vigorously determined to locate and receive as much grace as possible from the throne room (Hebrews 4:16 NIV). And one thing is certain: God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV). Again it says, "at all times", which suggests: In season and out of season. This expression equally implies, "As long as the earth remains." For me, it reveals the pleasantness of functioning with heavenly wisdom.
In all seasons, we must engage the enabling grace for teaching others what is right, true, and full of grace - well accompanied by our words of comfort and encouragement. That's why we need to develop a true sense of cogitative practice based on God's Word, as well as, remain in fellowship with the Holy Spirit at all times for His accurate leading, so we can be steadily empowered to take full advantage of God's grace for any season of our lives, and thereby remain faithful and active in accomplishing the needful for Him. That way, we make every season count as a productive season. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:20; 2 Timothy 4:5; 1 Peter 3:15.
Exuberant Declaration:
The Word of God is for all times and it exerts lasting change and transformation, ministers salvation, and offers eternal life to all men. Ceaselessly, I use every conducive opportunity to spread the Gospel and to win the lost to Christ. By the enablement of the Spirit, the heavily burdened, the victimized, the hardened, the dispirited and the sad-hearted are lifted from the dungeon of predicament, uncertainty or despair, into the realm of settled hope and active faith in spiritual realities. Having such results, I continue steadfastly in the Lord by sustaining regular seasons of sharing the Word. To God be the Glory of God!
