GOING FURTHER IN LIFE

Your life's journey requires perseverance. The crucial element of a journey is having a purpose you aim to actualize and going for it, regardless of what you meet on the way. That is, you'll always meet with adversity, opposition and doubt; however your focus must be on fulfilling your mission and seeing those factors as a launch pad for your accomplishments in your destiny fulfilment. When a challenging time arises in your journey, you can be inspired by God's Word and engage it to strengthen you, energize you and direct your path successfully.

Reference: 2 Thessalonians 3:13 New Heart English Bible (NHEB)

'But you...do not be weary in doing well.'

In your mission and endeavours, do not grow weary in doing them well. Don't allow anything to interfere with your focus. Do not even let what you can't do now interfere with what you are able to do now. Achievers and complainers both meet challenges on the way, but achievers convert their challenges into a platform for high or specified level of success, while complainers use them as excuses to lose heart and draw back. Everyone faces challenge in any endeavour. It just changes face and form depending on the nature of your mission. But its what you do with the challenge that matters.

Most negative encounters can be converted into a positive energy to help us get further in life, but you must first change your mindset or perspective about your encounters. You must adopt the attitude of forwardness in the midst of challenges. Are you faced with any limitation? Analyse the situations around the assumed limitation, so you can see possibilities more clearly. Then change your perspective to see results beyond the limits, and then walk through it to get further. Are you faced with 'not enough'? Convert what you have within your reach into generosity and be patient while expecting a different result.

Are you challenged with the feeling of inadequacy or insignificance? Convert it into serving others selflessly. Are you faced with rejection? Start mixing up with people, and accommodate their response in the process, regardless of how you feel. With time, you'll start coping with connecting to people, if you do not give up. Notice the key phrase: If you do not give up. Galatians 6:9 (GNT) says, ' So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.' If you refuse to give up or lose heart, a time will come when you'll start reaping the harvest of your perseverance and 'getting further' in any area of life.

You can turn your life around by using the very things that once looked like an obstacle or hindrance as a tool that counts toward doing and achieving something worthwhile, if you work on your perspective about them. There's never a good reason to worry about any challenge, hindrance and obstacle. You can get concerned about them but never worry. Getting concerned is more of delving into means of acquiring solution, while getting worried is more of focusing on the problem and becoming agitated.

Work on your mindset until you start seeing solution when challenged with any given problem. That's how to build a problem-solver mindset. By focusing on solution, instead of worrying about a problem, your attitude toward the problem will change for good. Remember, whatever you are faced with, isn't nearly as important as what happens in you, or the stuff you're made of. So most of the unfulfilled mission and commitments people experience is because they don't have the right perspective and so they're not mentally prepared to go further in life.

James 5:7 (NASB) reads, 'Therefore be patient...The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains.' So be patient, the good is coming. The harvest of your investment is on the way. Do not lose heart. Do not lose your focus. Do not lose your bearings. Go further in life, doing well in your endeavours, and exercise patience for your increase and bountiful harvests.
