GOD'S WORD IS NOT CHAINED - PART 4
SATURDAY 20 MAY 2023
Apostle Paul was a great man in the history of mankind who maintained an extraordinary state of consciousness concerning the Gospel he preached. His system of operation rested exactly on the functional principle noted in the versified eternal truth below, which was a conscious memory processed within his brain, regardless of the condition he found himself in. More below!
Reference: 2 Timothy 2:8-9 New King James Version (NKJV) "Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evil doer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained."
Today, I want you to pay attention to this Scripture very well, and gain access to its hidden and underlying lesson - at a maturity value:
Paul suffered to the point of chains, yet the Word of God he preached kept working in people's lives successfully and miraculously. Now watch this: It illustrates the difference between considering apostle Paul's situation while delivering the gospel truth, and believing in the potency of the gospel truth itself. In other words, you won't say because Paul was imprisoned twice or faced troubles, therefore the Word is not true or no longer working or active.
It's like having a church leader who equips his members with spiritual truths, in order to perfect the saints for the work of the ministry, yet the leader does not have a baby, as though his marriage is unfruitful. Perhaps, some church members who came barren easily received their babies when he taught them how to apply the Word to their situation and prayed for them, but he is still without a child in his own marriage. This very illustration is similar to Paul's situational report. Even when he suffered and was chained like a criminal, the Word he preached was still dropping miraculous encounters in the lives of believers.
In Philippians 1:12-13 (NASB), Paul said, "Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel, so that my imprisonment in the cause of Christ has become well known throughout the praetorian guard and to everyone else." Beloved, what is the secret behind the Word and why is it unstoppable and unchainable? The answer is Isaiah 55:10-11 - "Rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return without watering the ground. They cause the plants to sprout and grow, making seeds for the farmer and bread for the people. The same thing is true of the words I speak. They will not return to me empty. They make the things happen that I want to happen, and they succeed in doing what I send them to do" (NCV).
Simply put, once spoken by faith, the Word travels and comes back fulfilling the dictates unchained. As the Word became flesh, and they crucified Him, nailed Him to the cross and buried Him, the tomb could not hold him. On the third day, every chain that represented the tomb and death was broken, and He was loosed from the pangs of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it, or remain in its clutches. The MSG translation of Acts 2:24 says, "And you pinned him to a cross and killed him. But God untied the death ropes and raised Him up. Death was no match for him." Got it? Indeed, the Word in human flesh, or in any form, cannot be chained. This simply means that the written Word, the spoken word and the incarnate Word are unchainable.
When it comes to written Word, I've heard of Book with chains at some point in history, which is the Bible. We also hear of places where the Bible is banned or considered illegal. Some people have been denied access to it because of so many reasons and laws, and some others do not have direct access to it because they are situated in the most difficult places to own a Bible, yet God has raised many ministries that ship, smuggle and transport the written Word into these places through various strategies and it's such an astonishing and remarkable exploit that the written Word still remains unchained, come what may. It is the Lord's doing, and it's marvellous in our eyes, as He continues to orchestrate and mastermind His plans for the spreading of the Word. Stay tuned for part 5 for a notable insight into the divine influence of the Word in humans. Shalom!
