GOD REMAINS FAITHFUL - PART 1
WEDNESDAY 12 OCTOBER 2022
God is forever faithful. He keeps His word even when the whole world is unfaithful. The more the world becomes dark and disappointing, the more the faithfulness of God shines forth with proven certitude. The more man fails God, the more God's faithfulness becomes powerfully effective. Has it really occurred to you that God's faithfulness is the most powerful certainty? Let's find out more!
Reference: Romans 3:3 Amplified Bible (AMP) "What then? If some did not believe or were unfaithful [to God], their lack of belief will not nullify and make invalid the faithfulness of God and His word, will it?"
Let me start with this: Beloved, it is God's faithfulness that sacrificed Jesus on the altar of Calvary to clear the world of sin. God decided on this course of action in full view of His faithfulness, to set the world in the clear with Himself through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, thereby taking care of man's sins which He patiently endured over the past generations. Does it mean anything to you that God has set things right which makes it possible for us to live in His rightness as a result of His faithfulness? Regardless of man's unfaithful nature, God went ahead to faithfully demonstrate His lovingkindness. Did you contribute to it? No! Have you thought about the fact that God didn't abandon the world, regardless of their extent of depravity?
What is faithfulness? It is the quality of being faithful. The synonyms are steadfastness, constancy, fidelity, dedication, dependability, exactness, authenticity and unwavering commitment. When I considered its Latin lexical semantic (known as fidem), the confirmation denotes the hallmark of trustworthiness or inherent reliability of a person or thing. All over the Scriptures, God's faithfulness is His warranty, certifying that the uncommon revelation He birthed in the Scriptures and through other sacred means, will always be true or come to pass, according to His will, good pleasure and purpose. For instance, the Bible says, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away" (Matthew 24:35 NIV).
God's faithfulness always has the full assurance of certainty; it comes with evidential worth, and it demands our confidential trust. This means that dealing with God faithfully, requires a devoted, loyal and true credence that He'll always come through for us. It denotes much more than just accepting and believing a statement about God. Having faith in Him sets us in the clear. It reveals a life of full reliance, trust and dependence on His Word. Therefore, nothing can be more absurd than the conduct of those who doubt the truth of God's Word and the efficacy of His faithfulness.
Once we develop a feeling of doubt about God and His Word, we lose our sense of confidence in Him. But God wants us to be faithful. This is the reason the Bible is replete with impactful stories represented as or by an instance of the faithful. One of the instances is when Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, addressed the Ephesian saints saying, "To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus" (see Ephesians 1:1 ESV). Stay tuned for part 2. Shalom!
