GOD EXISTS - PART 2
God exists and He's eternal and sovereign. He has a divine nature and He seeks a relationship with all men. For every human, having a healthy relationship with God starts with an intellectual knowledge of who He is, which then matures into a deeper personal experience of knowing God in life. This is why it is strange and unpleasant business for anyone to disregard God and deny His existence. Those who do so set themselves up to stumble and blunder through life, because its as though they are blindfolded, with no sense of direction and no understanding of the atmosphere that surrounds them. Simply put, rejecting the existence of God or living such lifestyle is the easiest way to waste your life and lose your soul.
Reference: Psalm 14:1 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 'The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that does good."'
The fool is someone who refuses to contain God in their knowledge because their senseless heart is darkened. Some fools worship themselves, their wealth or fame and they oppose God at will and disregard His Word. In the above verse, David is making it clear that anyone who lives without God is susceptible to rebellion and corrupt behaviour. He refers to their actions as abominable iniquity.
Jesus told a story about a certain rich man (a farmer by profession) whose land yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.' He decided to tear down his barns and build bigger barns as storage to accommodate his surplus grain. Then he told his soul, 'you have plenty of grain laid up for many years. "Relax, eat, drink, be merry."' He may have been a smart and capable farmer, but God called him a fool because he never regarded God in his thought. He valued his possessions more than the knowledge of God. Eventually God said to him: "Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?" (Luke 12:16-20 NIV).
Whoever denies God is sure to (directly or indirectly) exalt and magnify themselves or worship other things like their wealth or fame. If you have been an atheist or living without God, I have a golden news for you: God still loves and accepts you, regardless. He will never forsake you if you make up your mind to cry for His mercy and turn to Him now and today. Psalm 130:2-3 (NIV) reads, 'Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?' He doesn't keep records of your rebellion and opposition; just seek Him now! You have the opportunity to make amends and change your ways now!
God is ever present but you must believe that He is. In other words, He exists. Otherwise, how far do you think you can go without God? For instance, when a doctor says he can't do anymore to save you or your loved ones, who will you turn to? When you have run out of human answers and need a higher guidance, where will you go to find them? When you do away with God, having exhausted man's help and concern, what next are you going to do? Refuse to be a fool and humbly declare the prayer below so you can start a life of personal relationship with God that will change and alter your destiny forever, in a significant way.
Scripture Reading - Psalm 90:2; Jeremiah 29:13; John 1:1-2; John 20:29.
Guided Prayer: Almighty God, your existence is eternal, all-powerful, and infinite in understanding. You are the only living God, the Creator of the whole universe, and perfectly holy like no other. All of creation proves to me that you exist and you appeared on the earth in the person of Jesus Christ to die for me and save me. Therefore, I believe that Jesus is risen and alive, I accept Him into my heart and I declare His Lordship over my life from this day forward. I'm now a new creation and I have eternal life. Thank you Lord, for saving me and taking full charge of my life. Amen!
