FOR NOW, WE KNOW IN PART
As saints of God, we function in the earth realm with incomplete knowledge of God and His ways. And today, apostle Paul described whatever we know about God as seeing a reflection in a dim mirror. No matter how specially gifted you are in revelation knowledge and spiritual gifts, it is only a glimpse of who God is, and what He is made of. For now, we are limited in His knowledge. And this is because the riches, wisdom and knowledge of God are too deep, unfathomable and unsearchable.
Reference: 1 Corinthians 13:12 New International Version (NIV) 'For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.'
Though we know Paul as a great divine revelator, he described all he knew about God in his lifetime as partial. In 1 Corinthians 4:1 (NLT), Paul noted: 'So look at Apollos and me as mere servants of Christ who have been put in charge of explaining God's mysteries.' Let's examine this verse: Paul said that we should account of him and Apollos, as the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Paul and Apollos explained God's mysteries as faithful stewards, yet he admitted in our referenced Scripture, that he only knew in part. In other words, in time realm, divine revelations are never made available in full.
The Bible says, 'After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah"' (Matthew 17:1- 4 NIV). Did you notice that there was no introduction? Peter had never met Moses and Elijah in persons before and Jesus did not introduce them to these three disciples.
Here's what happened: When Jesus was transfigured before them such that His face shone like the sun and His clothes became as white as the light, the atmosphere became heavenly. Under that influence, Peter, James and John didn't need further introduction. They knew in part but at that point in time, they recognised Moses and Elijah without introduction because the radiance of Jesus' face, like the sun, and His clothes like light overshadowed them. They identified Moses and Elijah by their names, which they were not supposed to know ordinarily.
Remember that John, in the book of revelation, described Jesus' presence in restored eden in this manner: '...The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever' (Revelation 22:3-5 NIV). This is exactly what happened during His transfiguration. His face shone like the sun and He became the light.
Beloved, there's no night in heaven. Once you get to heaven, you'll function under the influence of the light of Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9 NIV), and you'll know everyone by their names supernaturally. No need for one-to-one introduction. No wonder Paul says, 'For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.' Heaven will be so glorious and everyone will know fully. After the coming of Christ, when the church is fully mature as He is, we will see God face to face, thereby knowing and acknowledging Him in His fullness, instead of through partial revelation. No need for discoveries; no need for scientific researches; and no need for electricity supplies in heaven. Blessed to God!
