APPRECIATING THE RECREATED HUMAN SPIRIT
There are two kinds of human spirit: one is that of the Christian, which is recreated, and the other is the spirit of a natural man. The natural man has unregenerate human spirit. The recreated human spirit is the spirit of a born again Christian, who has received the nature and life of God. He cultivates his spirit with spiritual realities and is controlled or influenced by the Holy Spirit. But the natural man cultivates his spirit with sense knowledge and can be controlled, influenced or ruled by evil spirit.
Reference: Job 32:8 King James Version (KJV) "But there is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding."
If in you, there is a spirit, and its inspired by the Almighty, it equally means that the very Scripture we just read is written by a human author, but the inspiration of the Almighty gave their spirit understanding. The Spirit of God inspired their spirit man. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (AMP) says, "Every Scripture is God-breathed, given by His inspiration..." So it is the breath of God that inspired the authors of the Scripture. Therefore it is very important that we understand that the highest potential of the human nature is the human spirit. That means, the human spirit is superior to the human mind. When we talk about maximum levels of divine power working in a Christian, it is the function of God's glory revealed in our spirit - the core of our nature.
The new creation has the Holy Spirit dwelling in him and dominating his human spirit that has been recreated. So if you are born again, you have a recreated spirit and its linked up with the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV) says, "But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." That means, the Spirit of God dwells in the real "you". Romans 8:16 (NIV) reads, "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." This is a parallel testimony of the recreated human spirit with the Holy Spirit because of the bonding. It is the witness of God's Spirit with the conscience of our spirit. Having been joined to the Lord, our new creation spirit and the Spirit of God are bonded together. This is why every born again Christian is divine.
Furthermore, the revelation of God's truth is made attuned to our spirit, not our mind. The Holy Spirit, being the Spirit of truth guides our spirit into all truth or reality. He unveils the truth of the Word to us through our spirit. Proverbs 20:27 (NIV) says, "The human spirit is the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one's inmost being." The light in the lamp is the Spirit of God. When quickened by the Holy Spirit, the human spirit gives man an inward light and guide, which implies that our spirit is the eye of our soul. Before the Word of God builds our mental faculty and begins to govern our minds and thoughts, it is first absorbed by our human spirit.
No matter the situation or challenge we may face in life, our spirit is greater than it. It is the conviction which is lodged into our human spirit by the Holy Spirit (1 John 4:4 NLT). When you learn God's wisdom by His Spirit, it is your spirit that will help you more to retain it, but the opinion of this wisdom and truth is formed in the renewed mind. This is why we train our spirit to be sensitive and receptive to spiritual realities, because we receive those realities with our spirit, but we renew our minds with the realities received. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - John 3:6; Romans 1:9; John 4:24; 1 Corinthians 2:11.
Exuberant Declaration: I am graceful and thankful for the light of God in my spirit, always set afire by the Holy Spirit. As my spirit is regularly refreshed, instructed and trained by God's Word, it transmits the ability to receive direction, inspiration, counsel and wisdom of the Divine. Thus the perfections, beauty and excellence of divinity are resident in my spirit, and I'm God-inside minded, manifesting His glory, holiness and righteousness in my world. Hallelujah!
